a perfect seven

a perfect seven

“If then true lovers have ever cross’d,

It stands as an edict in destiny:

Then let us teach our trial patience.”

-Shakespeare

if when you are old and dream

of all souls your soul has known

and your hand has not held mine

nor our souls filled each with joy

nor our eyes laughed at sorrow

nor your velvet lips kist mine

know even then i love you

more than butterflies and stars

in dream you are my lady

and i kneel  to kiss your hand
